Have taken myself aside to administer a good telling off - this Blog is to let everyone know what I'm up too - and should be done on a regular basis - which I am sad to say, I haven't been doing - sorry to any regular readers and as my school report used to say (also on a regular basis) must do better, in my defence I love taking photographs and that's what I've been up too, nearly everything else takes a sideline, so moving on what shall I share with you all this time? I know what have I been up too!! Below is a photograph that I did for Jo at 5th Avenue in Bedford for their entry in Redken's UK/Ireland "Ultimate Chromatics Haircolour Contest" she very kindly sent me a short email that read - thanks adrian love it x
From hair to babies - well babies That are on the way - and I've been doing quite a few bump photos over the last few weeks, I really enjoy this type of photography as the lighting set ups are one of my favorite giving a very intimate feel to the photograph
this was taken a couple of days before the big event - this a couple of weeks after
And we would not have our fine reputation for baby photography if we left out Dad!!
Next onto Pet photography - this is another really big part of my business, and can be very challenging - from finding out what the owners want in the way of the photograph and then (hopefully) getting the end result - often with the phrase "so this is why you should never work with animals and children" left ringing in my ears, I end up with images that will remain hanging on the wall for years to come, here's a couple of my favorite moments captured recently they are completely different in style and feel but both will look fab hanging on the wall!
And to finish off - onto weddings - had a lovely phone call yesterday from Gino & Louise whose wedding I was fortunate to photograph last September, they have been showing off their wedding album (they were more than happy to tell me it's the envy of all their friends) and have decided to order one of the main photos as a thirty inch canvas - just to make an impact on visitors I think

Last Friday (7th September) I received an email from the Master Photographers Association which read: "Hi, I'm delighted to let you know that after three day's of intense judging you have been awarded a Merit in the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Awards - As a Merit winner, your image will be displayed with the other Merits at the Awards Dinner and Presentations, taking place on Sunday 14th October at the Hilton Hotel, Newcastle. It will also be displayed on the Awards website. I'd like to invite you and your guests to attend the event, where all the Merit winners will learn if they have achieved Awards of Excellence, become category winners or indeed won the UK or Rest of the World Portfolio title or International Master Photographer of the Year. If you've not attended before I can tell you that it's a fantastic night, full of glitz and glamour that you'd expect from such a prestigious event! Do not miss the celebration that brings photographers and the industry closer together for the benefit of the profession. Colin R Buck Chief Executive - The Master Photographers Association" - To say the least, this got my weekend off to a flyer, and I also have an entry in the Mario Acerboni Category for Wedding Photography - not yet judged. Oh and the winning print is:

Photographed a wedding on Monday for a very old friend of mine - it took place in the Knowle Country House in Rochester Kent and was very much a Photojournalist type of wedding assignment - she didn't want very many formal photographs, so I tried to capture the day as it went by, an outdoor service, with the Groom - Ken serenading the bride during the service - a very fun day, with a heavy showbiz presence. Vanessa was the dance captain on the musical Chicago in London for quite a few years, after she left that she cropped up on the BBC with Graham Norton in a dance show which I can't think the name of, I have put quite a few photos on our Facebook page, but I will share them here as well - with some of the comments received:

After my last Blog I thought you might like to see how the page of the Groom & Groomsmen I talked about had finished up looking in the album
Have been in the process of changing my sample wedding albums, I really need to do this every year as my photography changes so much, I am constantly attending workshops, reading and trying out new techniques in order to keep fresh, and offer the most up to date imagery about, in the last few months alone I have sat through five different courses covering: Babies, Pets, Glamour, Young teenagers and marketing - giving my customers better photography and a better service. I hit the wedding fair circuit starting next month, and can be seen at - The Barns Hotel and Whipsnade Zoo on Sunday the 16th September, Pavenham Park Golf Club on the Sunday the 7th October, the Northampton Hilton on Sunday the 14th October and Horwood House on Sunday the 21st October next year is looking to be our busiest yet. And now for some photographs, on the 12th we photographed the wedding of George & Simone Linney
And to round off this edition of our blog - we turn once again to Pets, Dogs in fact, who come in all shapes & sizes from Big to small - Ugly to Cute - You will have to make up your own mind on this one - I give you "Boots" who I believe is looking for a job as a Nightclub Doorman

Had a nice surprise last night - going through the channel guide I saw that More 4 are repeating the series "My Transsexual Summer" which I had the pleasure of working on as the photographer, - setting up the photographic studio in the house, providing the camera, and then after the filming taking the photographs that were actually seen in the series, and were then used in the national press to advertise the program.
On to my day to day working life now, did a lovely shoot the other day for a C.V. photograph, after the photos have been taken we sit down and go through them, select the ones required, then I work over the photograph to produce the finished image, when you're happy - I'm happy - he's the testimonial left on Linked In (a business comunity website for recommendations to other businesses) which was then emailed to me - "Dear Adrian, I've written this recommendation of your work to share with other LinkedIn users. Details of the Recommendation: "I asked Adrian if he could do some portrait photos for me to use for job application websites as well as for social media websites and as you can see from the photo on my profile he definitely delivered! I don't particularly like having my photo taken but Adrian made me feel relaxed and the results were great. Adrian takes great pride in his work and is meticulous to the end. I love my new photos and would highly recommend Adrian to anyone looking for some great photographs." Service Category: Photographer Year first hired: 2012 (hired more than once) Top Qualities: Great Results, Personable, Expert" Sally Callaghan.
What seems to be getting a bit of a regular feature on the blog page, so I may as well continue it - Pets, here is a photo taken a couple of weeks ago - I've called it favorite toy - for obvious reasons, as with all of our Pet photography it was taken on location, which means in the owners home - hope you enjoy
A lovely Alsation called Toby, this was taken in the fields behind his owners house
Another subject always being mentioned on the blog is weddings - so I can't really sign off this episode without writing a little on the subject, thought I'd share some of my thoughts when photographing a wedding, when I take a photo I have normally thought about where the picture will appear, what type of feel I want for the picture or what memory am I trying to capture that will remind the couple of the big day, now for some examples of what I'm talking about - this shot is of the Groom and the groomsmen - I took this with the idea of putting it across two whole pages - I can then put more photos above or below or both hence it's long and thin.
This shot of the Groom - Adam is to go on the leftside of the page - so he faces or looks into the album
there is also a picture of the Best Man facing the other way - to go on the right hand side of the page with some other shots of all the Groomsmen to go in the middle
this is all the Groomsmen but with the main man - Adam at the front just to show who's number one for the day
If you haven't guessed yet - I've just started putting some wedding albums together from this years weddings - in all the photos above, the main thing I try to do is have the guys looking "cool" - and not just stood in the line up of a penalty kick !!! Having your wedding photographed properly - is more than just getting someone to press the button or own a good camera, it's an investment in skill, I'll finish this off with the photo I took to represent the "Boss" with her attendants - the lovely Lizzie
After your wedding days finished, the dress has gone to the cleaners, you've checked out of the hotel, the foods been eaten, you're guests have gone - wouldn't you want great photographs of the day? I like to think that is why Inner-Visions is considered One - if not - THE BEST Wedding Photography service in Bedfordshire - getting married - give us a call. 01234 765368 - 07973 147652
